Final Austrian CrowdStream workshops in the Lower Austrian Leader Regions

Crowdfunding workshops in Gföhl and Stockerau

The final CrowdStream Pilot Action workshop in Austria produced great interest at the regional level and gathered about 50 interested attendants on May 16th, 2019. It was one of a few successful events implemented in co-operation with LEADER region organisations. LEADER region Hollabrunn-Manhartsberg and ConPlusUltra combined efforts in the early 2018 to develop a set of events providing information on crowdfunding for interested participants coming from the region of Hollabrunn. Following CrowdStream presentations by Brigitte Hatvan (ConPlusUtlra) at these events, a few more LEADER regions expressed their willingness to develop support service related to crowdfunding for local project and initiatives. This led to the implementation of two workshops in Stockerau and Gföhl in cooperation with the interested LEADER regions, where local experts provided insights on “Do’s and Don’ts” regarding implementation of crowdfunding projects at the regional level. Reports on practical experience were provided by local campaigners, who gave practical advices and triggered lively discussions among the workshop participants.

The main target of the Pilot Action activities were to showcase how business support organisations can develop new services and support local projects and initiatives to grow via alternative financing. Feedback from the Pilot Actions was included in the Austrian Regional Action Plan and in the Policy Recommendation for improving access to finance for start-ups and social enterprises.
